How much does embroidery digitizing cost?

$15-$25 variable for cap and left chest logos up to 4 inches wide. Jacket back digitizing starts at $20 for small backs and goes to $75 for large complex designs over 10 inches. 3D puff digitizing starts at $20. Applique digitizing is priced at $1 per 1,000 stitches with a $7 minimum. Small lettering is $15-$25. All prices include every embroidery file format and free technical revisions within 7 days of delivery.

How long does embroidery digitizing take?

Standard delivery is 2 to 4 hours from artwork approval for most designs including caps, left chest logos, 3D puff, and small lettering. Jacket back and applique designs take 4 to 8 hours depending on complexity. Rush delivery in 1 to 2 hours is available at no extra cost; just note RUSH on your order.

What embroidery file formats do you deliver?

All 20+ embroidery file formats are included at no extra charge: DST for Tajima and most commercial machines, PES for Brother and Babylock, JEF for Janome, VP3 for Husqvarna Viking, EXP for Melco and Bernina, TAP for Happy, HUS for older Husqvarna, and XXX for Singer. The EMB editable Wilcom source file is also included with every order.

Do you use auto-digitizing software?

No. Every file is built 100% manually in Wilcom V9 and E2 by one of our 38 professional digitizers. We never use Wilcom's auto-digitizing features, auto-font generation, or batch processing tools on any order at any price. Manual digitizing produces production-ready files that run correctly on the first sew-out.

What do I need to send to get my design digitized?

Upload your artwork in any format: JPG, PNG, PDF, AI, or EPS. Tell us your machine brand and model, the design placement (cap front, left chest, jacket back, etc.), and the size in inches. If you have a specific fabric type such as a structured cap or softshell jacket, mention it so we can adjust density and underlay settings correctly.

Do revisions cost extra?

No, as long as the request falls within our 7-day technical revision window. If a delivered file has a verifiable structural or digitizing error that deviates from your original artwork and the instructions you gave at checkout, such as density, underlay, stitch direction or lettering readability problems, we revise it free. Send your request to info@sassydigitizing.com within seven (7) calendar days of delivery. Requests made after the 7-day window are treated as new orders and may be subject to additional editing fees.

Can you digitize logos for embroidery caps?

Yes. Cap digitizing is our most common order. Caps require specialized curved-surface compensation settings that standard flat-garment digitizing does not apply. We set correct underlay for structured vs. unstructured caps, reduce maximum stitch length to 4mm to prevent floating stitches on the curved panel, and apply pull compensation for cap fabric stretch. The variable rate is $15-$25 for most cap designs.

What is the difference between a DST file and an EMB file?

DST is a universal stitch output file: it contains the finished stitch coordinates and color-change commands and is read directly by most commercial embroidery machines. EMB is Wilcom's editable project file that contains the design as adjustable embroidery objects. EMB is only useful if you have Wilcom software installed. We include both with every order at no extra cost.

What file type does a Brother embroidery machine use?

Brother and Babylock machines use the PES format. Brother's multi-needle PR series also reads DST. Tell us your machine model when you order and we send the exact format it needs, along with DST, EMB and every other format at no extra cost.

What size should a logo be for a cap or left chest?

A left chest logo is usually 3 to 4 inches wide. A structured cap front is usually up to about 2.25 inches tall and 4 to 5 inches wide, depending on the cap profile. Send us the size you plan to sew and we digitize for that exact size, because density and underlay change with size.

Do you digitize for embroidery shops in the UK and Australia?

Yes. We digitize for shops across the USA, UK, Canada and Australia. In the UK and Australia the service is usually called embroidery digitising; the files, formats, flat rates and 2 to 4 hour turnaround are the same in every country, and there are no extra fees for international orders.

Most logos cost $15-$25. That covers cap fronts, left chest logos, small lettering and standard logo conversions up to 4 inches wide. Jacket backs start at $20 for small backs and go up to $75 for large, detailed designs over 10 inches, because a full back can run to tens of thousands of stitches.

Manual digitizing in Wilcom
Your design is built stitch by stitch in Wilcom V9 and E2. Underlay, density, pull compensation and stitch direction are set for your fabric and placement, not guessed by software.
Step 4
Delivery and free revisions
You receive DST, PES, EMB and every other format you need in 2 to 4 hours. If the file has a digitizing error, send a revision request within 7 days of delivery and we fix it free.

Artwork only? You can also send a PNG or JPG for PNG to PES conversion, or ask for vector art conversion if you also need print-ready artwork.

Hand Digitizing vs Auto-Digitizing
