Converting a logo to embroidery is the technical process of translating flat brand graphics into physical thread. It requires a deep understanding of how physical needles interact with various fabrics.
Your logo is rebuilt stitch by stitch in Wilcom V9 and E2 by one of our 38 expert digitizers. We simplify gradients and tiny details by hand instead of auto-tracing the image.
The same logo needs different settings on a cap, a polo or a jacket. Tell us where it goes and we build the file for that size and fabric.
Stitch order, trims and color changes are planned for your machine, so the logo runs clean from the first sew-out.
Proper jump stitch planning and trim sequencing prevents thread nesting across your converted logo design and reduces trimming time in production. Every thread route is planned manually for clean results.
Embroidery is not printing. A logo designed for screens or print cannot simply be sent to an embroidery machine. Here's what the conversion actually involves.
Built for ink or pixels, not thread
Rebuilt as stitch paths for your machine
Print and screen design can use millions of colours simultaneously, including gradients. Embroidery machines can only sew one thread colour at a time, and most commercial thread ranges contain around 400 colours. Gradients must be converted into blocked zones of the closest available thread colours.
๐ก Most logos designed for print use 3 to 8 solid colours and convert to embroidery without major changes. Logos with gradients or more than 12 colours require simplification we'll discuss with you before starting.

Convert Your LogoCommon questions about converting logos to embroidery files.
Cap and left chest logos cost $15 to $25 depending on detail. Jacket backs cost $20 to $75. Other designs are $1 per 1,000 stitches with a $7 minimum. There is no setup fee, all formats are included, and standard delivery is 2 to 4 hours.
JPG, PNG, PDF, AI, EPS, PSD, TIFF and BMP. Screenshots, phone photos and scans also work, because every logo is rebuilt by hand in Wilcom rather than auto-traced.
All major formats: DST (Tajima, Barudan), PES (Brother, Baby Lock), JEF (Janome), VP3 (Husqvarna Viking, Pfaff), EXP (Melco) and more, plus the editable EMB source file, at no extra cost.
Yes. Because the design is rebuilt by hand, a blurry image is only a reference. The sharper the image, the more accurately we can match fine detail and lettering.
We recommend separate versions. Caps need center-out stitching and extra pull compensation for the curve; shirts do not. Using one file for both usually causes shifting on the cap.
Your logo file, the finished size in inches, where it goes (cap, left chest, jacket back), the garment or fabric, and your machine brand. With those five details we can build the file right the first time.
Upload your logo and receive DST, PES, EMB and every other embroidery format in 2 to 4 hours. Not sure yet?
